Reel Cast Charters specializes in light tackle shallow water fishing in Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound. We primarily target striped bass, bluefish, false albacore and bonito. We prefer to fish with lighter spinning and conventional tackle and also accomandate fly fisherman. We fish a variety of methods that include casting lures and drifting live baits. We will also cater to your angling needs from first time anglers who are looking to catch their first striped bass to experienced anglers who prefer to target trophy striped bass using the most innovative techniques. We also offer trips for bottom species (blackfish, fluke and seabass), shark and tuna.
5/1/12- The Striped bass season is underway! The Housatonic and Connecticut Rivers have lots of herring and striped bass. Bass can be caught in the shallows on a variety of lures including top water plugs. The river bites will peak this month. In June we will start running our night trophy bass trips.
