ABOUT REEL CAST CHARTERS A GUIDED FISHING CHARTER IN CT
Captain Mike Roy
Captain Mike Roy is the founder and operator of Reel Cast Charters, a full-time fishing charter based out of Connecticut. His angling pursuits have taken him across country, as well as internationally, fishing in both fresh and salt water from large mouth bass to giant bluefin tuna. An innovative angler, he is constantly applying new techniques, and his enthusiasm and passion for the sport are contagious. Captain Mike is a United States Coast Guard OUPV Licensed Captain and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s and Masters Degree in Education.
Captain Mike Morazzini
Mike Morazzini is a lifelong angler with over 25 years spent on the waters of Long Island Sound, Rhode Island and Block Island sound. Although he has considerable experience targeting a variety of fish from large-mouth bass to tuna, sharks, snook and tarpon, Captain Mike’s passion lies with the pursuit of local species; primarily striped bass.
“I was fortunate enough as a young child to grow up two blocks from the shoreline of Long Island Sound. I couldn’t wait to get out of school each day and cast for stripers on the local rocks and piers. Not having the internet as a child allowed my friends and I to learn the fishery through direct experience and knowledge passed down from our elders.”
Mike is a United States Coast Guard OUPV licensed captain and a Biology and Environmental Science educator. He runs the fishing club at Jonathan Law High School and finds great enjoyment teaching and sharing his love and enthusiasm for the sport with others.
Captain Brian Sievel
Captain Brian Sievel grew up in Northwest Connecticut fishing for trout in some of Connecticut’s best trout streams. He soon switched gears to striped bass and he got the bug bad. He spent most of his time surfcasting the shores of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York. He has spent many hours chasing these fish through the local waters and has a vast knowledge of local haunts and habits.
Captain Andrew Ray
Born and raised on the North Shore of Massachusetts Captain Andrew Ray has spent much of his life chasing inshore and offshore gamefish. Captain Andrew’s passion has taken him up and down the coast of New England from Maine down through the waters of Gloucester and Cape Cod, onto Stellwagen Bank and south into Rhode Island and the Long Island Sound. Andrew is a USCG licensed charter boat captain and also holds a bachelors degree in science of nursing from Quinnipiac University.
Reel Cast Charters operates aboard a 23-foot Deep Vee Pathfiner powered by a new Suzuki 250 four stroke. The Pathfinder 23DV is regarded as one of the finest 23-foot center console fishing boats ever built. The boat has an immense amount of storage, large live well, pith wells, and large fish box. Our boat drafts little water and is ideal for fishing shallow waters out of reach of larger boats, yet it can still make the run across open water. The boat’s open layout provides clear room for both spin & fly casting and is kept on a trailer so we can always get to the hot bite at any location. Our boat meets all U.S. Coast Guard Safety regulations and is equipped with the latest and greatest electronics from Humminbird: Mega Side & Down Imaging, Chirp Sonar, radar, and a Minn Kota trolling motor with I-pilot link & Spot Lock technology. We use the best rods, reels & line available from Shimano, G Loomis, and Power Pro.
